The house is totally custom-designed and constructed.
Basically there are 3 main sections to the home:
- Main House which is 80' X 40 ' and consists of eight (8) rooms. All rooms are very large and, if desired, could be divided for extra living space. A central hallway connects a majority of the rooms. A very large covered entry porch exists under the same roof as the remainder of the house. The mission tile roof is approximately 6,000 sq feet and has special support to hold the weight of the 12-pound shingles and the eves. The foundation is slab, not with conventional rebar, but with half-inch cables in the middle with 22,000 pounds torque applied following drying of cement. This was done to provide a totally floating slab with inability to crack. All rooms have access to a central vacuum system.
- Breezeway which is located between the garage and the main house. This is pier and beam and again under the same roof structure. The room has brick walls with redwood floor and ceiling. It is insulated just as the remainder of the home. The breezeway is heated, and a portion is heated and cooled. The portion that is heated and cooled is divided from the rest of the breezeway by another redwood wall with insulated window and sliding glass door (Bronze). It is carpeted and serves as an office. The breezeway is 40 ' long with the back portion 21 ' and front portion 12 ' , thus enabling the home to be a lazy L shape with the breezeway being the bottom of the L .
- The final section of the house, called the garage, is also under the same roof and insulated just as the rest of the house. Inside the garage is a small work room, which is heated and insulated with windows and a sliding glass door. The garage is two rooms, and heat is available in the garage. This room has access to the central vacuum system. The garage is 40' X 40 ' with the back work room 40 ' X 6 ' (Inside the 40 ' X 40 ' garage).
